There goes August; gone with the wind.
But August, “…if you go, where shall I go? What shall I do?”
Well, I don’t know about you, but I’m gong to indulge in the last bits and pieces of
summer September has to offer.
In short, August was stunning. I went to two concerts (The Fray at the AV fair and Sam Smith at the Staples Center), started my second year of college as a Kinesiology major, and made a ton of new friends in the process.
The concerts were definitely the highlight of the month. The Fray gave a wonderful performance, keeping their crowd entertained the whole way through, but Sam Smith rocked the stage, making his crowd his own choir. Suffice to say we were on our feet the entire night. The last time I had gone to the Staples Center, I was an eighth grader on my school’s varsity dance team where we were offered an opportunity to perform center stage at half time for a Clippers game. It was a once in a lifetime experience that I’ll take with me always, and having front row tickets to see Sam Smith perform live is definitely a memory I’ll never forget.
However, I wouldn’t have had the pleasure if it weren’t for my twin sister, Chelsea. She purchased the tickets a year in advance, but she wasn’t able to go due to her professional work as a poet and when poetry calls, she answers.
And as I finish off this blog post, I’m in one of my favorite areas in California; San Diego. A beautiful getaway with my beautiful family, it doesn’t get better than this.
Or does it?
Show me what you’ve got September, I’m ready for you!
Thanks so much for reading and I’ll see you next time on the blog,
Be seeing you. xX
