I hate the taste of butter because it burns my throat but I can’t eat popcorn without it. I figured I’d just stop eating it as a whole but as soon as I sit in a movie theater, the popcorn aroma is so daunting, I can’t help but purchase a bucketful.
Two days ago, I went to see Molly’s Game for the second time which was just as amazing as it was the first. Jessica Chastain, who plays the role of Molly, is completely, utterly, and sensationally phenomenal. I absolutely cannot wait to see the day she wins her first Oscar. She is stunning, humble, and personally an inspiration to me. Last year I had gone to a screening of Molly’s Game that featured a Q&A with Jessica afterwards and I kid you not, she stayed until every person left the theater with the picture, autograph, or conversation they yearned for when going. Other celebrities don’t always stay after the Q&A, sometimes no one even gets a picture because they bolt out the exit door before the audience had a chance to get up. I understand they live an unceasingly crowded life, but it comes with the job they signed up for.
Regardless, I highly recommend spectating the film. Idris Elba, who is another one of my favorites, is in it as well and he too executes his role!
Now, this is cliché to say, but I want to be in the movies. I wouldn’t mind being a nomad who travels to different states and/or countries in order to shoot a film I’m starring in. That’d be the dream. Sure, I’d be constantly living out of a hotel, but that’s the journey of it all, isn’t it? I’d be staying in one if I were traveling with just the sole purpose to travel anyway. Don’t get me wrong, I’m up for all things: TV, Animation, Broadway, etc. But feature films are the main source of my passion and I will do whatever it takes, acting classes, workshops, etc, to get to the point in my career where I am constantly booking feature film roles.
Another film I saw recently and also repeatedly was The Greatest Showman. For those of you who haven’t seen it, I would highly advise that you do. The cinematography is astounding and it is easily the best soundtrack of the year in my opinion. If you watched the Golden Globes Sunday, one of their songs, “This is Me” won best original song in a motion picture. However, my personal favorite is, “Rewrite the Stars.” That scene is so undoubtedly beautiful, I just about teared up. I promise you won’t regret it.
Motion pictures are what saved people in The Great Depression. Not financially, but mentally. And it saves us still. If I could do anything, I’d star in a motion picture.
And I know that one day, I will.
Until next time,
Be seeing you. Xx
